KEMBA Roanoke Federal Credit Union awards local scholarship

Salem, VA - KEMBA Roanoke Federal Credit Union, a local, non-profit financial institution located on Main Street in Salem, recently awarded a $500 scholarship to a local Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) working at Richfield Living. Ketzia Morrow was chosen as the winner out of eligible applicants that work at Richfield Living in Salem, VA.

“We are proud to support everyday heroes in fields like healthcare that devote their careers to serving members of our community day in and day out,” explained Allan Davidson, CEO, KEMBA Roanoke Federal Credit Union.

CNAs at Richfield Living with plans to continue their nursing education were eligible to apply for the $500 scholarship. The winner was selected based on criteria established by Richfield Living. Ketzia, who has been a CNA since 2014, joined the Richfield Living in April of 2016. She is furthering her education at ECPI where she is enrolled in the LPN program.

According to Ketzia, her two years of education have strengthened her understanding of medical issues, which has helped her connect on a deeper level with Richfield residents.

“I chose the healthcare profession to follow in my mother’s footsteps,” said Ketzia. “I have a true passion in wanting to help people, and I’m so thankful to KEMBA for their support of my education and career.”

“We are grateful to KEMBA for their generosity, and for their wanting to support a Richfield team member who works so hard to care for others,” said Susan Turner, Director of People and Culture. “Ketzia is so caring and we are pleased for her to be recognized in this way.”
